Last few days, I had the opportunity to design and implement a solution that automates data extraction from PDF files using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Azure's Document Intelligence capabilities.
With this solution, I was able to:
✅ Process multiple PDF files automatically.
✅ Extract structured text and data from scanned or digital documents using Azure OCR.
✅ Consolidate all extracted data into a single, professionally formatted Excel sheet — complete with frozen headers, styling, and auto-adjusted columns.
✅ Generate the Excel file with a meaningful, dynamic name, making it easy to trace and archive.
This experience reinforced a key lesson for me:
When technology meets intent, even the most repetitive, time-consuming tasks can be transformed into efficient and reliable workflows.
I am continually inspired by how far cloud-based AI and OCR technologies have come — enabling us to extract value from documents that were once locked away in images and scans.
